I just finished the "final" draft of my novel! It's something I never thought I would do. Now that I'm done, I'm really glad that I did it. Anyway, it's time to start querying agents (I have a completed query letter and synopsis ready to go), but all of a sudden I'm feeling rather nervous. Will someone like it? Will everyone hate it? Have I deluded myself into thinking my writing doesn't suck? LOL. Any last words of advice before I bite the bullet?

Way to go! You've accomplished a great feat few people have the stamina and wherewithall to attempt, let alone complete.

Once that puppy's in the mail, there's only one thing you have to do...start the next one.

Quick Question: When emailing queries, should I use HTML, Plain Text, or Rich Text? If Plain Text, do I need to use all CAPS for the book title or just capitalize it like I ordinarily would?

Thanks!

CGs on the accomplishment. Nobody can take it away from you, however the book fares in the marketplace. Well, that's not quite true. If Hollywood options it, you'll have to kiss your baby goodbye and be reconciled to not recognizing it on screen. ;)

Congrats! I can't wait until the day I can finally say the same... even though I'll probably finish the worst of my editing tomorrow (hell yes!), there are still a few months of polishing and beta-ing to go before I send mine off.

Good question about the queries - I've got no idea. You might want to put up a separate thread about that.

As someone who is editing her first novel, I can only congratulate on you on being a few steps ahead of me. Oh, and possibly, be a little jealous too lol ;)

I've been at the stage you are now at for a while due to my own nervousness. I finally sent out a couple of queries last night and just getting the work out there is a definite morale booster. Just don't let rejections get you down if and when you get them.

Check on the rep, WillS is second to none! Congrats on your finale, if you have anything that you've already posted about it you should let me have a look. And toss the query up on the SYW boards so it blows all those other non-AW authors away! Good luck and the power of Chaos be with you!
