Hello guys,
My name is Russ. I'm new here, I was directed to this site by a friend. I'm 19, and in college at Robert Morris University. While i'm a Marketing major, my true passion is writing screenplays.
So now that the introduction is out of the way, lemme say that I have already written a few screenplays. If any of you are familiar with the Resident Evil video games, well, I wrote 3 screenplays for the first 3 video games since I did not like what the movies that actually were made did to the Resident Evil name. In my opinion, they were garbage. Although these movies had no chance of selling, I knew the material in and out, and I love the games, so it was a great starting point for me to get experience in writing movies. I've also written a few feature length original screenplays as well, and looking back on them, they're not that good, but hey, like I said, it's experience.
Well now this summer, I decided that it was the time to take a serious step and attempt to write with future considerations in mind of getting this sold in the future. So I have written this screenplay, I guess you can categorize as a romantic-comedy, although it's not filled with cliches and such that you would expect from the typical one. It's more of a Chasing Amy type romantic comedy than a say... A Walk to Remember (throws up).
So I'm going to register my work with the WGAe so that I can start circulating it. My friend told me that this would be a good place to get feedback, so if anyone is interested in reading it once I get it registered with WGAe, I will send it out to you through email if you post your email.
With the critiques, what i'm looking for, is not a critique on the technical aspects. I realize there are a ton of things in need of fixing in that respect, what i'm concerned with (since this is the first draft), is a critique on the story and the dialogue and the structure, pacing, etc.
So, again, whoever's interested, it would be a great help. Let me know, and hopefully we will be in contact with each other shortly.
