Oh yeah, Exo-Squad too. It woke me up to the idea you can do "adult" things in a "Children" slot.
I mean, Ex-Squad is a "children" cartoon show that essentially recounts the Eastern Front of WWII in Space. Complete with the Holocaust. And it handled it in a tasteful way...
The only flaws were the fact that A) The animation was low quality and B) The art direction was...INCREDIBLY cheesy. I mean..."We shall crush the resistance" <gets squished> "And sometimes, the resistance crushes you." Nrgh.
But still...it was quite cool and I was like, "whoa...this is a kids show, and they're dumping old and infirm people into the SUN. Awesome! Giant robots! Sweet!
Oh, and then there was this other show that totally inspired me when it came to sci-fi...but I HAVE NO GODDAMN IDEA WHAT IT WAS CALLED!
I watched it when I was quite young, and it was about...these five super intelligent chimpanzees living in a space ship. Chimps in Space? No, that wasn't it. I don't know. I just know that, looking back at my faded memories, I remember Alien and Star Trek references.
OH and Animaniacs.
Animaniacs Ffing own ^_^
