OK, so I introduce a character and want to put a caption with his name, but the book has an ongoing caption-narrative. How do I differintiate?

If in the script so far you have just used CAPTION for the ongoing narration, just use something like CAPTION 2 for the name drop. This will tell the letterer to use a different color / style for that caption box.

Use a decorative banner or scrollwork. or even an arrow?

It might actually fit to do a newspaper heading. How would I go about doing that? Would I mention it in the panel description, then "CAP/HEADING" or "CAP/NAME" or whatever?

And thanks for the help.

Good suggestions all, I might make it even more plainer English, e.g. SPECIAL CHARACTER INTRO CAPTION: or NEWSPAPER BANNER STYLE CAPTION:
