Clarion West students' laptops were stolen.

Can anybody help?

A burglar seems to have made off with 4 of their laptops. They're in the middle of their Clarion time, and should be writing hard, not dealing with this, and most Clarion(west) students are far too broke to just buy new ones.

Nathaniel and I have an old laptop that works fine & could just go to them, but getting it to Seattle is harder than getting it to UCSD would be. If anyone in the greater Seattle area has a spare laptop, though, that could save stories. Ditto if anyone has money...

Apparently they have temp laptops now, but need help getting new permanent ones.

Yeah. I feel really awful for them, and worse because Mr. Shweta and I don't have a good sense of our expenses for the next year and whether we can afford to chip in here. It's possible we can help but everything is so much up in the air...

About the best I could do at the moment is $$ or programs. I had an old laptop, but my husband 'fixed' it. I use it as a doorstop now.

Just a suggestion. I would have the powers that be write to Mrs. Bill Gates. I know this may sound like a far reach, but their program is set up to help with educational stuff. I would think they would be more than happy to help considering it is computers. ???????

I would give it a try. There are only two things that could happen and one might be yes.
