Got two plays in the works at the moment -
the one is a short play, part of Florida's Playwrights Roundtable Festival of political plays (called 'Red vs Blue') - which starts off July 24th.

The piece is titled 'A Dead Soldier in the Family'.

The second, a longer work, is quietly in rehearsal, over in London - and it'll be opening July 3rd.

It was called 'Putting the Fun Back into School Shootings' - or, as I later decided, to retitle it 'The Normal Sound of Architecture' (which keeps much of the 'fun' hidden so that the audience gets deliciously side-swiped, after being sucked into the unfolding plot line).

Hopefully it should cause some outrage, always a good thing.

endless rewrite

Congratulations. I'm in London the week of July 3rd, where's the play on? I might be able to catch it.

Hi there, sorry about the delay in replying - apparently I was mixed up, dates-wise, there's an initial showing and premiere in the 'new work' section of the Garioch Theatre Festival
(see main Fest page http://www.gariochtheatrefestival.org.uk/ )
or specifically, (http://www.gariochtheatrefestival.org.uk/productssimple3.html ) for the play info,
and thereafter, some sort of run in London at a later point.

Apparently, part of the reason for the showing of the piece at the Festival, is to let the Scottish Arts Council and others, take a look at it with a view to considering sponsorship - as well as to, I guess, iron out any problems. Hopefully riots won't ensue - which they might have, if it was done using its original title.
