All Summer Long is a such a great tune. First it "mashes" two kick-ass songs: Werewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama. Then, the lyrics are nostalgiac for events that happened in 1989.
I was 18 in 1989, so it's almost like the song is about my memories, except I wasn't "smoking funny things" just yet. That came two years later. I was dating off and on during that time (lost my virginity that year, too) and graduated from high school.
It was a very changeable but enjoyable time of my life, and this song almost brings a tear to my whenever I hear it.
Oh, and I was also into Skynyrd at the time, and really liked the song Werewolves of London, that I had recorded off Dr. Demento.
I first heard All Summer Long about six or seven months ago on our local rock station. Kid Rock and band was visiting the morning show and they talked about their new album and All Summer Long and how it came to be. They then performed it live on the air. I hadn't heard it since until this month.
Thoughts about All Summer Long?
