Hey, I just joined after months of reading these boards. I'm 16 and I'm about 22,000 words into my first novel. I was wondering if I could post some here for critique, since this seems like such a friendly board. Would that be okay?

Hi! Welcome :)

I'm almost eighteen - you'll find a lot of teens on this board. And you'll find a lot of people willing to critique your work, but not in this thread. Head over to the Share Your Work forum (fondly referred to as SYW) and click on the genre which fits your work.

Glad you've joined the boards!

Read the SYW rules posted in the stickies. Most folks try to keep it around 1,000 words or less, usually a first chapter but not always. Try to find your genre and read the posts and critiques there to get an idea of where your work fits and what to expect.

And welcome to AW.

Critiques cost $7.

Critiques with positive comments you want to hear cost $11.

Nothing but praise for your awesome words cost $18.

Just kidding.

Critiques actually cost $11.

:)

The squirrels in query letter hell are costing us a hell of a lot more than that. Between their nuts and the coal we burn, it must be costing us at least twenty for a critique.

And the squirrels eat anything with positive comments.

And praise for your brilliant writing will cause query letter hell to disappear again. That's what happened last time.

Best of luck,

A Jersey Chick crit is about $12 and I throw in a free lighter for flaming your hair when you finish reading it. ;)

Just kidding - I charge 2 bucks for the lighter as well - but you do get to pick your own color!

:welcome: to the Cooler!
