You think it'll suck that bad? Hrm... well, I'm a breeze at suspending disbelief, so maybe I will like it.

I saw the trailer in the theatre the other day. The movie doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a superhero flick? Is it a comedy? Is it a reluctant superhero flick? Is it a slacker sees the light and turns his life around flick. I dunno and I think the director doesn't know.

That's funny, I watched the trailer and thought it may be the best movie I've seen in ages. I thought the trailer was hilarious! I'm all over it.

Me too. The scene with Hancock and his buddy watching the youtube video of the beached whale totally cracked me up:

Hancock: "I don't remember that."
Buddy: "Greenpeace does."

I just hope it lives up to our expectations.

I think it's going to be really good! I didn't get any sense that the movie didn't know what it wanted to be, at least in the trailer I saw. Seemed pretty clear to me. Definitely will go see this one! Then again it stars Will Smith and Jason Bateman, I could be a bit prejudiced since I think those guys rock!

And Charlize Theron is pretty picky about what she works on. Always a good sign.

Except Aeon Flux. Ugh.

But I'll see Charlize in anything. Or in nothing. I'm not that picky.

The movie looks interesting so I'm sure I'll be there.

The result of which was Sweet November. Now I enjoyed it, being a Keanu Reeves addict, but objectively it was not a good movie. Although the dog was a cutie.

Having said that, I really want to see Hancock. I think it'll be really good. I think they took elements from the movie and put it in a trailer in a format that they think will bring in the audience. They do that a lot. I just watched In Her Shoes last night, which was targeted as a really funny chickflick about two sisters, which it was not. Very good movie, but nothing like what the trailer suggested.

But yeah, I want to see Hancock. A lot.

I saw this trailer in the theater when we saw the new Indiana Jones movie. I want to see it. This movie is giving us a superhero movie that is so unlike any other superhero movie. Number 1: he's black. Number 2: he's a superhero who doesn't want to be a superhero (from what I can gather). He has the powers, knows how to use them, but doesn't do it very well. And doesn't seem to care to.

I want to see it.

It looked great to me. I always have been a sucker for the reluctant hero storyline, though. I believe I read somewhere that Will Smith predicted this would be his biggest movie yet, so we shall see. Honestly, even when the movie isn't so great I find him charming and sincere enough to still pull it out of the fire. I also heard a great quote from him (which I'm now scrounging from memory), where he said something to the effect that they changed the movie's title from "Tonight He Comes" to "Hancock" because it wasn't challenging enough for the adult film industry to make it into a porn title - at least they had to think of "Men in Back". Hee.

Will Smith is the man, pretty much all of his movies have been decent and he is pretty damn versatile, how many actors can go from saving the world to helping you get a date :)

Just putting him in a movie is a guaranteed sale of $100M (or close to it).

Talk about star power. There are very very few actors whose name will almost guarantee a $100M at the box office

Very selective club. Must be nice.

Really? It has the c word right in the title. How hard (every pun intended) would it be to change that? lmao

Ahahaha! I thought the exact same thing, but didn't want to bring up the C word. Glad you did, though. :D

I took his quote as being sarcastic. Which is what makes it funny.

You people are sick. Minds in the gutter, I tell you. Do you also snigger every time the Declaration of Independence turns up?

All of you -- go pour bleach in your ear and do thirty jumping jacks. Filthy minded writer-people...

This understates my feelings about the movie after seeing the trailer, but closest post so far.
