Last summer a friend bought me a one month gift subscription to Netflix. I kept it for about 5 months and revelled in all it's glory. I absolutely LOVED it and HATED to cancel it...but financial obligations stared me in the face and I decided to cancel it.

Now, I'm in a place where I can take it up again and I just did this morning. Even had my old queue in tact and everything. I'm tickled pink.

Anybody else have netflix? What do you think of it? I think it's the best thing since sliced bread and jock straps.

I've been a Netflix member for almost eight years (since practically they started.) Love it more than mustard. And that's saying something.

At the same time? You have some serious fetish.

I love NetFlix. It's saved me so much money. I usually find that I only HAVE to have just a few DVDs. The rest I can rent, watch, and forget about them. Before Netflix, I used to spend over $100 a month.

Yeah, I joined netflix back in 2000. Have never considered cancelling it.

TiVo and Netflix. Not sure how I ever survived without those two things.

Ha! I haven't watched a commercial in years. I don't know why I still buy all the crap that I do, though...

Netflix also has excellent customer service if anything goes wrong.

Is there a Canadian equivalent to Netflix, because I'm really feeling like I'm missing out now and I don't even know what it is!

Why, yes, we do have electricity and running water. And universal health care. Poor us!

I do like netflix. The best part is, if you lose a disk, you can just say it never arrived and they send you a new one! :)

I also like the feature where I can watch instantly on my computer.

And we have netflix. We win!

We love it. I also like being able to watch movies on my computer. We let it go back over the winter because we weren't watching the movies as much since our television shows were back on, but we've signed up for it again because we watch a lot more movies in the summer.

And, I'm in love with DVR. I don't know what I ever did without it.

We love NetFlix! We don't even have a television set, so no DVR for us, but I'm ignorant enough of its benefits to not even miss it. With our NetFlix DVDs, we drag my husband's computer over to the couch and all sit together to watch complete seasons of Arrested Development and I Love Lucy. We are only signed up for two DVDs at a time because of our abiding cheapness, but shipping is so fast, we don't feel deprived.

I love Netflix. I especially like being able to get all the obscure foreign and art movies that video stores never have. My kids are working their way through every Godzilla movie ever made. Hubby likes getting all the HBO series.

Why on earth is it not available in Canada?

But they have the Canadian Grand Prix next weekend. They win. :(
They have a lot of prix in Canada. So what? ;)

Is that F1? They can have it.
We don't even have a television set....
That is just so bizarre. I couldn't look at you more strangely than if you said you had a third eye growing out of your forehead.

I always went with the Blockbuster online membership. You trade the movies in at the store, pick up free rentals there AND your next movies come in the mail still. Plus you get a free video game rental per month, and yes, I'm a casual gamer. It was literally too much of a good thing. I cancelled because I got so caught up on everything I wanted to see / play within a few months.

But I'll probably get back into it soon, as I have a lot of catching up to do from when I had it last summer. Plus I got my Xbox 360 not too long ago, so there's new games to rent... as soon as I get the *%$*%%! thing back from Microsoft (how does your machine break in less than two months!? Come on Bill!!)

Wow. Free game rental, too? When did they add that? What about late fees? Blockbuster always had late fees, or as they called them, restocking fees. Because now I have a netflix and a gamefly subscription and if I could go to Blockbuster for less, I'd do that.

Can you watch movies online, too?

They don't have movies online, and as far as restocking fees, they still have them for movies / games rented in store (they don't have games available online yet, which is a travesty, but I digress), but they don't kick in until the game / movie is very, VERY late. I'm a pretty big procrastinator and it still never affected me.

The free game rental was just monthly, which worked for me because I'm not a big time gamer (mostly because I'm really bad at many of the games that I really enjoy). If you play more games or more often, it's may not be that much of an incentive. For me it was a perfect extra.

I like Netflix precisely because it kept me out of the Blockbuster store, but without late fees, it's probably a pretty good deal.

They had to do something to keep Netflix from putting them out of business, so I imagine they try very hard. Competition can be a wonderful thing!
