Hello all, I moved my question here as it might be a more appropriate area...I wonder if there are particular agents (whether in the US or Britain) that have horse-related authors, either young adult or adult. Anybody know? I figure there must be SOME, perhaps Walter Farley had an agent that he just never mentioned, but...I sure would like to know.
Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks in advance...

I don't have any real suggestions for you. But I've always been told (although I've never really checked) that a lot of authors thank their agents in the books themselves. So perhaps if you go to the bookstore or library you might be able to hit upon it.

Also, you can see where books like this have been published and what agents work with those publishers? If you do enough research you can probably find out something.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though. If your book is good enough, an agent may pick it up whether or not they have done so before. As much as everyone says to query agents who do books like yours, I've often found that agents who do books like mine reject me with the explanation that they are already representing a book like mine and it's a conflict of interest for them.

Good luck!

You might consider literary agent and lawyer Barbara Gislason, who founded Blue Raven Press specifically for publishing books about animals.
