I know, all we need now is a bi-polar, geeky, vegetarian zombie hero who has to have transplants of his dead organs and limbs every now and then and only takes them from bad guys, whom he meets whilst in his job as a plastic surgeon, and who is in love with his mummified girlfriend reincarnated, unbeknownst to her, as his beautiful married next-door-neighbour (an ambitious forsensic scientist who is determined to find out who keeps killing these bad guys and taking their body parts).

Oh, and he has to decide whether he should get the zombie spell taken off and just die, now that he's been tracked down by a voodoo magician turned priest - who becomes his best friend.

I have to lie down now.

Torchwood is an awesome show, in the second season. the first season I loved but it was patchy. Once they settled down in teh second season it is amazing. Word has it a third season has been commissioned by the BBC, who still have to make an official announcement but it's been confirmed by John Barrowman and Russel T Davies.

TORCHWOOD SPOILER

see, i read an interview with Burn Gorman where he said he was going back to do classical theatre on stage and then "of course there's the filming for Torchwood." So I don't know what that means. Is he not dead, not dissolved in radioactive waste? Or is there one or two episodes that are flashbacks? Drives me crazy to think about it. I'm just glad Ianto is still around. Next to capt Jack, he's my favourite.

I read the 2 Dexter books: Darkly Dreaming and Dearly Devoted Dexter and eh, thought the tv series would be tripe--happily the shows are better than the books!

There's plenty of serial killers killing bad guys. Quick sample: Sonya Blue, the Nancy Collins quasi-vamp knocks off the bad guys all the time and she came out in '95.

How good is the Network syndication versus the original show. I really enjoyed the seasons when they were aired on the premium networks, as they were uncut.

I just hope that the series didn't get to "nerfed" when it made the crossover to prime time.

I can't imagine that the network version would sound as natural as the Showtime episodes. The writing of the show is amazing, but it does include a vast number of words you can't say on network television.

I haven't read the books, but I've heard multiple times that they are very much inferior to the show.

I haven't watched Dexter yet, I could see how it runs on a regular network but it wouldn't relate to the US. It's on at 9 pm here and in Canada they don't edit stuff near as much. Only a few months ago they showed "In The Cut" with Meg Ryan, uncut, as the 8 pm movie. That movie has a lot of nudity, a lot, and they didn't cut anything out, not even the brief full frontal of Mark Ruffalo. I didn't notice any uproar afterwards either. So as for language, they blank out the f word usually, although late night on the government-owned CBC is never cut.

I do want to watch Dexter, it's just that I always forget it's on. I have the first book too, haven't read it yet. I should do that this weekend.

Dexter's sister uses the word 'fuck' like it's her right arm. It's part of her character (and she's a wonderful character.) If they have her saying 'fudge' or just moving her mouth silently like a startled goldfish, it's going to be very, very stupid.

I have always held out hope that Owen is not dead, that maybe he mutated. Is it so far fetched after all he was the walking dead, was he not? Now he could have a powerful touch, he is a doctor:p I hope he comes back, I love all the characters, but Owen has a special part in my heart. Ooh that rhymed:p

I just started to watch Dexter. What a show!

I find it very distracting to see the same actors on Torchwood playing other characters on Dr. Who. Like, WTF?

Masterwork, I havn't been watching Dr. Who (I going to buy the DVD series) but which characters from Torchwood play different characters on Dr. Who?

Kat 1, Jack's a time agent so who knows, he might go back in time and rescue Owen.

Nevada, I have a cat that looks just like your avatar. I painted him. You can check out the painting on my web site

maestro, Russel T Davies likes to do that. He also likes to use character's names again. Gareth David Lloyd, who plays Ianto Jones, played a different character on a totally different show by Russel T Davies called Ianto Jones (the character not the show).

So far, the only actor who was on Dr Who and played a different character is Naoko Mori. She was in an episode in the first season called Aliens In London. Okay, I know, I sound like a total geek. I just happened to have seen that episode a few weeks ago. CBC has a new channel and they started Doctor Who from the beginning of the new series. Really, I'm not a geek. Just a little obsessed with Torchwood. Just a little.

Captain Jack was in Doctor Who, the last five episodes of the first season and the last three episodes of the third season. He will also be in the fourth season.

My geekdom will now end.

Jeff, the cats do look alike. Ty is a cutie. (ps, there are several typos on the website. pm me and I'll tell you)

Not so, my fine geek! The actress who played Gwen was in the first season for Who, in the Dickens episode. She played the psychic who was killed by the alien/ghosts, the servant of the man who owned the mortuary. Also, just stretching a geek point, (and a LITTLE bit of a spoiler but not much), Martha Jones also appears in Torchwood, and she first appeared as a different character in Who.

I just started watching Dr. Who. In fact, just finished up Season 1. Now I guess I'll have to find out what 'Torchwood' is, because Rose mentions that place in the penultimate episode.

I thought the episode that showed the creation of Torchwood was in the first season of Doctor Who. It starred Queen Victoria. Maybe I'm wrong and it's season 2. I can't remember now. I can explain if you want. Or you can just start watching Torchwood. It's self-explanatory.

I know, and I don't even rate Torchwood that much. Bit too pleased with itself that it can show swearing and same-sex snogging, whilst the stories themselves are distinctly still Who-ish in audience age-range, I feel.

The second season is much better than the first, absolutely, and I have high hopes for the third, even if Chris Chibnal is leaving to do Law and Order: London.

OK, just wiki'd it, and it is ITV. Not yet cast...hmmm...Next time Dawn Airey steps into this club, she will not leave it without getting me seen by whoever is casting it. Even if I have to lock her in the loo.
