Squids of the Caribbean

A seafood chowder would be common back then--milk based, or boiled in water with potatoes, carrots, turnips, onions.

Hi AZ Dawn, I've run across this squid in some research for a free lance article. I got the impression they were pretty small. If a person wanted to eat them, they'd need quite a few for just one person. Feeding a crew....? Like the other guy said, it would have to be a stew or chowder. I don't see why they couldn't wash up on a beach, or even a ship during a storm.

It looks like they are small and they look like they live in shallow water (the Caribbean is not very deep in the reef area) so I am not sure how big the actual waves could get. The reef is the reef because they waves have not churned everything up. As far as edibility, even the "giant" type squid eventually are eaten. Scientists are like that. They catch things, tear them apart and then try to taste them if they are not too rotten. Argentinian squid are the ones found in stores, but I'll bet taste wise, a squid id a squid. They cant be very poisonous as you see the scientists kissing them (they kiss them, then they eat them.)
