What YA book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

I just finished reading The Devouring by Simon Holt, and Need by Carrie Jones.

The Devouring was surprisingly freaky (in a good and unexpected way...but perhaps that's because it was really late at night and I was home alone while I was reading it...)

Need was interesting...nothing too astounding but the MC is very likable and the novel is based around each chapter being named after some obscure phobia, which is kind of cool....and educational.

I'm still debating on whether or not to read City of Ashes....I liked City of Bones despite some of the predictable storylines....but certain parts ruined it for me. There seems to be mixed reviews...

Just finished Ink Exchange by M. Marr. Great writer! She keeps me reading her books all day.

I've just started reading The 13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison, which won this year's Waterstone's Children's Prize. It's proving to be a little slow for me to get into and the premise is a familiar one - girl can see fairies but no one else can and the fairies are torturing her because of it. Still, there's a mystery element to it, so I'm interested to see where it goes.

Breaking Dawn drove me insane. I actually just lost interest after 20 pages and can't bring myself to touch it. But that's just me.

I'm not sure if you ca truly consider it Young Adult, but my local library does, so I've been reading In Legend Born by Laura Resnick. I read a lot of fantasy, and even though it's somewhat generic, she does such a great job with it. Lovable characters, a convincing location, and an intricate plot. I don't know what more I could ask for. A must-read, I think.

Currently reading The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod: Eighth Grade Bites. Good so far, more MG. Finally read Jennifer Lynn Barnes' books, really like her writing. Waiting for Fragile Eternity, so I reread MM's books. Loved Hunger Games.

Finished The 13 Treasures and it was okay but didn't really set my world on fire.

Am currently reading The Poison Garden by Sarah Singleton, which is a fantasy but told in a more literary style. So far it's pretty interesting and I'm keen to know where the story is going.

Just finished Gamer Girl by Mari Mancusi. It was cute, fun, but highly predictable. It got the point where I was reading it just to see if the obvious wasn't going to happen. But it did.

Also, I'm reading Lord Loss by Darren Shan. I loved his Cirque Du Freak books and I have high hopes for this one.

Dirty South by Alex Weatle -I'm only a couple chapters in but so far I'm liking it. Before that was 'The Dead of Summer' (Camilla WAy) -good ending definitely worth a look!

This is great there are some on here that I haven't read yet let alone heard of...looks like my hand will be in my pocket yet again. Thanks for supporting my addiction folks!!!

Just finished The Poison Garden by Sarah Singleton, which was a solid historical fantasy and tightly written. My only gripe was with the two info dumps towards the end of the book because even though the writing was good, the structure of it didn't quite work.

Am about to start Bloodline Rising by Kate Moran, which looks like a sequel to a book that I haven't actually read. Damn.

Finished reading up to Haunted of the House of Night Series by PC Cast and Kristin Cast. It was enjoyable and a fun, quick read....although...in some parts the story seems a little drawn out, but maybe that's just cause now I have to wait for the next book to come out. Sigh.

I'm about to start book two of The Mortal Instruments Series because I've decided to give it a chance (I wasn't too thrilled by the ending of the first one...).

I'm also thinking about picking up a copy of Wake by Lisa McMann. Anybody read it?

I just read Blood Red Horse and Green Jasper and am now waiting anxiously for Blaze of Silver to arrive: couldn't find it at ANY local bookstore and had to order it. I loved the first book, the second one was also good even though it had a couple of "okay, that went too far down the cheesiness path" scenes, and I wish the character of Ellie was a little more filled out--but overall, I am rabidly addicted to this series like I haven't been in a long time.

......and I just finished WAKE by Lisa McMann. I really enjoyed it. The writting style was unique and the story was captivating. I'm looking forward to settling down with the sequel FADE.
