Does anyone remember the episode were Steve Austin rescues an old man from captivity in a swamp and, while escaping, stops at an old smoke-shack filled with blood sausage? The old man is weak from his captivity and is a vegetarian, yet, nevertheless, Steve forces him to eat blood sausage so he won't faint from hunger!

Please tell me that someone else remembers this episode! It has haunted me since childhood. It's how I first heard of blood-sausage, yet no one else seems to remember it.

I can't have made it up, but perhaps there was another show with Lee Majors where this happened. Please help me track down this old TV show.

Thanks...

Oh, I almost forgot. Would you like some blood sausage?

It's been so long since I watched SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN that I don't have any idea about this episode. There's so many old episodes of everything on the net, surely you could find it. Good luck.

Thanks for trying, dear colleagues.

I did once find a six million dollar man fan site and posted the same question there. Only one person had a vague recollection of it. But surely, someone out there must have seen a TV show with Lee Majors and Blood sausage!

I've read through all the episode blurbs. I remember the blood sausage part, but I doubt it would be included in the synopsis. It was just a little bit of local color.

It's not so bad. I had lunch with Jason Tudor today (AW's jst5150) and he ate a bowl of these:

Or at least he did until I mentioned that it looked like a bowl full of embryos. Our Poet Laureate doesn't eat babies. Good to know.

I didn't see a lot of episodes of this thing, but I do remember an episode with enemy "fembots" (must be the episode where the synopsis mentions robots) and their extra weight in a helicopter causing the pilot some concern (but that didn't give them away, yet they knew the fembots weighed 400lbs each). Maybe it was fembots in the "Addicted To Love" video, but I digress.

I just posted this (without anyone else's idenfitying info) on the Usenet group rec.arts.tv - it appears to be rather active group (a few hundred posts a day), so I think there's a good chance someone will see and remember it.

Here's the post as shown through "Google Groups" (which is NOT Usenet, but rather a Web gateway to it. Long story...), this link should show responses as they're posted:

I only ate the tentacles. And when she said "embryoes," I stopped eating them. :)

I can't thank you enough, Ben. That's a very neighborly thing to do.:)

Check that link again (disregard the first two responses, that's normal crap for Usenet - it's like shortwave radio, lotsa noise between desirable signals), there's a couple other people remembering that episode, but they're also mentioning that it could have been in other action series. There's "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." which goes back a ways mre than 6MD Man...that show was always slightly toungue-in-cheek, and then "I Spy" which goes back even earlier. They're calling him (the vegetarian) "the Howard Hughes clone..." LOL. And then, more contemporary with 6MDM, there's "I'm almost thinking it was a McGyver episode."

Any of this ring a bell?

The Internet Really Does Have Answers for just about everything... you just gotta know who, where, and how to ask.

And rep points would be thanks enough. ;)

ETA: I rarely watched MacGyver, I was in college by then and it seemed a bit too, uh, redneck or immature for me...

UPDATE!!!

Thanks to Ben, a guy named William remembered this episode. Below is the reply I posted on his board http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.tv/browse_frm/thread/20e0719a73ccf6ef

William, you're not just good, you're brilliant! I think you've found
it!

First, let me explain that Ben Bradley posted the original query on my
behalf (I did not know this group existed), but I am, in fact, the
original poster. The fact that the series was called "Cool Million"
explains how my (then) ten-year-old mind filed the memory away in the
Six Million Dollar Man vault.

Anyway, I just read through the episodes of Cool Million and "The
Abduction of Baynard Barnes" seems to fit the bill. Here is the
synopsis: Keyes must rescue a kidnapped billionaire, but his mission
is endangered by the man's paranoid aversion to germs.

:snoopy:

So... my next question is: where can I get a copy of this episode or
series? Any thoughts?
