Definitely wasn't sure whether to post this in the music section or movies.. But I figured music was a tad more relatable. Any hardcore Lennon fans here? I literally collect everything of theirs. The Beatles were life changing. Anyway, anyone remember the PLastic Ono Band? Theres a DVD out documenting the process .. I'm really excited to purchase it. Any other fans?Any thoughts on the Plastic Ono Band?

he was a complex, talented man, and i have a deep appreciation for his work. a great deal of his post-beatles stuff is eclectic at best and (some) unlistenable at worst. but he could have been content to be a pop star but he wasn't. i respect his willingness to take chances, and he took many.

with 'double fantasy' he had reached a marked level of artistic maturity, and it's a goddamn shame it turned out to be his swansong.

I think thats one of the things I respect most, its the fact he took chances.. esp everything after the Beatles. Thats everything the Plastic Ono Band was.

I love "Double Fantasy" I swear a couple of the songs, he almost intuitively knew his fate, maybe he did. Even the back cover seems to kind of have an omen to it that points to his death. it's awesome and erie at the same time.
