OK, so I just remembered this morning that a few days ago I had a dream. In my dream I was writing, the program was a mix between MS Word and Movie Magic Screenwriter (my script program), and it had a NEW function called POV check

I'm sure this had to do with the conversation I had earlier about POV shifts in writing, but apparently this function checked for that and underlined it bue (like Word underlines spelling errors and grammar lol)

Just thought I'd share!

I don't know... I find the grammar checker more annoying than useful. The last thing I need is the program trying to "correct" my writing style as well with every little thing. It wouldn't stop at POV shifts, either. Fragments, run-ons, any other thing that's technically incorrect but still occasionally useful, nope, my manuscript would be awash in squiggles.

Once you start down that path, forever will it dominate your destiny. :)

I say thank you, but no. :D

Oooo Star Wars fan. You rock! -snuggles Yoda-

Yes I admit the grammar thing bothers me to. It does help, but then there are times I just ignore it because, grammatical or not, it sounds better the way I wrote it dagnabbit!

Damn, I thought this thread was going to be about dream-based stories and had several little anecdotes all ready to go!...

I've seen a program that hunts for cliches, called "Cliche Cleaner." DL'd the trial version but was afraid to use it. :D

On my own computers I always leave the squiggles off. I usually do a spell and grammar check once or twice in the course of a manuscript. When I was younger, adding my proprietary fantasy-world terms and character names to the spellchecker (in Wordstar! and then Word 6.0) was one of my special forms of cat-waxing, which is possibly why it seems tiresome now.
