I am looking for a beta reader for my action/adventure novel. I began writing it about a year ago, finished it about six months ago, and have spent the remainder of the time editing it and trimming it down, and also making it more palatable for publishers.
The novel is long (200,000+ words) so it will require dedication. However it is fast-paced, and I believe an easy read.
The premise of the novel is similar to the current situation in Iraq, with testosterone-driven American soldiers fighting in a Middle Eastern conflict. Please note that in no way does this resemble any Tom Clancy style espionage/or military science novel. Knowledge of the military and its inner workings, then, is not a requirement. In fact, it is discouraged.
Those who are not accustomed to excessive profanity, extreme violence, graphic sex scenes, and a primitive treatment of the fairer sex should refrain from reading. In short, it is a novel for men, particularly young men who have no outlet for their sexuality in the present androgynous environment. Maddox's "Alphabet of Manliness" is an example of this.
I will be willing to send out the story to anyone who would like to read and comment on it thoroughly. If you are interested, please e-mail me at [email protected] or private message me. In closing, I will state that I have the utmost respect for editors and the editors on this site in particular. I have "lurked" for a long time on the forum and here I feel is the proper place to contact people interested in improving my novel. Thank you in advance, and God bless you for taking the time. You are truly saints.
