NGANO

I was just about to doze off last night when I got a strange idea for a script. I need to know how to write speech for a character that is in the imagination of my main character. You never see this character, it is only a voice in his head. Is this a VO or what? I wasn't sure. The idea may never pan out but, I would like to know how to do this. Anybody?

To save yourself the hassle of having to write (V.O.) everytime the voice is heard, you could simply add a note upon its introduction in the script. Such as, for instance...

Jerry stops mid-conversation and cocks his head as a VOICE IN HIS HEAD chimes in.

(NOTE: The Voice in Jerry's head will be referred to as "X" and will always be heard via VOICE OVER),

JERRY
What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy?

X
Sorry. Just wondering if you've seen that new Van Damme movie?

JERRY
What, the one where he does the splits?

X
Yeah, that's the one!

JERRY
Could you be more specific?

X
Oh, applesauce!

Etc...
