Actually, I lie. We have one thing on our wall. Mr. BF got me a large photo canvas of my cat who was run over ~ 8 years ago (*sobs at the memory*) He got it for my birthday not long after it happened, and hung it at the top of the stairs for me so I can see my boy every time I go up. Considering how much Mr. BF dislikes animals, it was v.thoughtful of him.

If I could art, I'd have my work stuck up all over the house. LOL
I admit, I'm tempted, especially for when my private students come. I like them to see I know what I'm doing.

That is actually super thoughtful. I'm impressed.

That was very thoughtful of him.

And that is why you should hang your work up! Be proud of what you created!

Right, I'm heading off to bed.

Have a great day, Lil, and a great rest of the evening, BF!

I think it's time for breakfast. Since sleep isn't going to happen. Oatmeal, anyone?

Goodnight, Jay. If I'm too busy at work tomorrow to pop in ... good luck for your license test! Go get those L's, girl!

Well, since you're all leaving me, I'll try for those words.

Lil -- I had porridge for breakfast, so count me in for the oatmeal, I guess.

I've never had porridge. I'm not even sure I know what it is. Just that Oliver Twist wanted more for some odd reason.

So, I can't put sweetener on my oatmeal (which is how it should be eaten), so I added a touch of salt, then some mangos and raspberries. It's quite yummy. once you get used to the taste.

Porridge = oatmeal. So yes, you've had it. :)

Try banana and cinnamon. (Wait, can you have banana?)

Ohhh, banana and cinnamon. I can have banana, actually and had banana and strawberry just a few days ago. But the strawberries weren't sweet so it wasn't as good as it should have been.

Cinnamon...without any sugar? And that tastes okay?

I'd usually add some honey, too, but that's out for you. I'd go lightly on the cinnamon (just a hint), but generous on the nananananas.

Okay, as soon as my bananas are ripe enough, I'm going to try it. I need more options, seeing as how my diet is a tad restrictive.

Yeah, I suspect you'll want the bananas nice and ripe (or almost overripe) to make them nice and sweet.

If you want, send me a list of what you can (or can't) eat, and I'll come up with some options for you. I likes creating cooking things!

Also, tad?

Lol

I knew you'd love 'tad'.

Sure, I'll email you a list of what I can't eat. Or maybe it'll be shorter to email you what I CAN. haha

Really busy this morning, but I ended up heading home early (this afternoon was dead). So in all my alien zebra wisdom, I decided to take the opportunity to make baked ricotta gnocchi for dinner. I spent the last few hour wrist-deep in ricotta dough and tomato sugo. I forgot how labour-intensive that meal is to make! (Should be delicious at least.)

Oh wow. That sounds heavenly! I have never met someone who does gnocchi by hand (at least at home).

Alien Zebra wisdom

Morning, Bryan. :hi:

Oh wow. That sounds heavenly! I have never met someone who does gnocchi by hand (at least at home).

It's really good (if I do say so myself). Little fluffy pillows of ricotta gnocchi baked in a homemade sugo with heaps of basil and topped with mozzarella. I don't make it often (usually only by request when someone's having a function), but it's a great winter meal. Hearty and yum.

But loooots of work.

Yeah, I wouldn't be a happy camper either. (or if you want the Aussie version - not a happy little vegemite)

Really?? happy little vegemite? How on earth did that saying come about?

I read an article in the paper tonight about a guy who went for his driver's licence after he hit 30... and he mentioned having to be on his Ls for a whole year, even though there's no requirement to keep a log book. Boo hiss. That means it'll be FOUR YEARS before I get a full licence because I have to be on my red Ps for 1 year and green Ps for 2 years. I'm going to play stupid tomorrow and ask anyhow.

OMG really? Hopefully that will be different for you!

You know, cause you be special and all!

Hi, Bryan! Good to see you today.

I'm off to a doctor's appointment with a laundry list of complaints. We shall see how it goes.
