Ugh. Thought I had it last night. The MCs are finally meeting in person and one being so hopelessly smitten with the other, I thought it would be a chance to seriously up the word count with myriad superfluous adjectives and adverbs. Instead, I wasn't feeling anything and had next to squat energy, barely cranking out 1813. Thankfully I made minimum but bleh.
A sad showing, considering the words were all written in the morning. I felt sick in the evening, and stayed in bed and watched movies instead of working. But I would have been at chorus rehearsal until after 10 anyway.
1,653 words for the day. Not only did my plot reconfigure itself yesterday, resulting in a measly 600 words of narrative, the wifi in my laptop is starting to die. Gah! I ordered a USB adapter. In the meantime I'm just happy it works at all -- writing a scene in the tundra isn't the same without streaming the howling wind and roar of monsters. lol.
Day 7: 1102
Day 8: 1114
Day 9: 1364
Day 10: 1446
Total: 17,027
Combination of illness and bad organisation and then I returned to work on the 9th. First day was tiring but good, but still less than par writing. Today was exhausting but better on words because I actually remembered to describe some stuff (my first drafts tend to be sparse on description. And, well, everything).
I'm still getting good word counts, but normally by this time I'm well ahead and I slow down later in the month. It's a bit strange. Hopefully can get a bit of a buffer this weekend.
Me too. Words on the page is the goal. I just got back home this week after nine months in NYC on a job; the timing for NaNo couldn't be worse for me but writing is helping me get back into my "home" groove.
