Day 7 - a little over half a page longhand, so I guess 200 words. It was flash, but it had a premise I might decide to come back to some day.

Looks like nobody did much this weekend, so now I don't feel so bad about goofing off. Maybe when the moon rolls around to full again we'll all be more productive. :)

Day 7

Word Count - 145

Revisions - 2 scenes

black.e.weis - I haven’t done much myself.

April - WTG on finishing that chapter

Layla - Congrats on the ¼ page! It was stressful, but I prevailed.

Taylor - What kind of martial arts--if you don’t mind me asking.

Ptero - You did more than I did. Lol.

Shanthini - 890 words and a goal reached. Woot!

Keithy - My gifts are waiting for bagging on Christmas Dinner day.

Daniel - Good luck tomorrow!

The next scene is where Billy hit’s the dope kingpin, and I can’t figure out where he does it. The guy’s been smoke for years until one of his enforcers was arrested and sang. So now, DEADco knows where he’s at. Billy’s going to make him disappear forever.

Oh! And Find a Death is back online after days and days of server problems. Woot! I spend a goodly amount of time chatting with the creator and one of the two mods. (I‘m an administrator.)

Now, I’m going back to reading and eating my apple wedges.

Aw, looks like everyone's slacking off again! Must be winter blues or something.

Anyway - I did 553 words on Demon Hunter, finishing off the final scene and doing more work on the first chapter. Gawd that was painful, I spent an hour fussing over one word: "energetic". We're getting information about Shana, her mother and her race.

research

Grand opening ideas. I found a company that does special scissors for cutting ribbons! Should I have a ribbon, or just an on-off switch?

non-writing

boiling pork ribs
dog sitting
trying not to go out in the stormy weather (our back lawn is like a swamp right now)
feeling tired.

keep swimming (but not in our back lawn, please)

I drive by. (Today did not turn out like I planned hoped.) But, I did manage 1/2 page.

Ugh. Yesterday got really busy for no good reason. Only 182 words, but words nonetheless.

Today was a little better: 645 words.

Congrats, April, on finishing your chapter!
And nice work to everyone else who made some progress :)

Another accidental day off yesterday, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who is super busy.

204 words today.

Not at all. I'm into tang soo do. My wife works with one of the instructors, so that's how we found out about it. When we moved here a year ago we both decided we need regular exercise, and she suggested martial arts since we would learn things in addition to getting fitter (another plus is that we can still defend ourselves at work, where neither of us are allowed to carry weapons; not that I want to necessarily, we're blessed to live in a low-crime area). The school is run by some great people and we've made several friends (three of which have been very helpful in getting our house ready for moving day). Every test is comprehensive, so it can be exhausting, but we have it our best shot. I'm confident we'll advance to the next rank.

Meanwhile, I realized that my current notes are just too much for a short story. Darn it all, I was outlining another book. So, I'm cutting things down to the bare minimum: starting at the very end of the MC's time-travels so we have room for his debriefing with the client who hired him and a discussion about what he found. I think that's all I can do with 5000 words.

Glad everyone else is making headway!

Day 8
Yesterday I was able to get another 4 pages edited. Getting anxious about finishing and applying the changes to the next draft.

Pterofan: Every December I try not to let Christmas invade my life too much, and every year I fail. We’ll make up for it in January!

Cindyt: Yay for words and revision and fixed servers!

Keithy: The storm is grim. All it does is encourage indoor drinking. 553 is not too shabby for this time of year.

Layla: Sorry to hear that (but woo for 1/2 page!).

shanthini: You still got words down though, and that’s awesome!

aurora: Woo for 200 words!

blake: I too am stuck in endless editing. Great job getting four pages done.

I read through the book in one go, slashed a scene or two, and made a new to-do list. It’s pretty short … I think the story is mostly there now, thank god. Just a few more tweaks before I send it off. The end is in sight!

Day 9: Decent bit; 3 miles; slip slips

Thank you. I can relate though, there have been times I’ve felt like I’ve been stuck in and endless loop of editing.

Day 8 - about 3/4 page longhand, maybe 300 words. At least it was devoted to one of the books and not flash.

I was going to try typing in the library but chickened out again. It's raining here, so I'll just go home, have a cup of tea and type in bed. These are the days I love being a writer.

Pterodactyl- that sounds like an amazing day. I just had a blizzard here this morning and still had to go into work.

Layla - hope for better vibes tomorrow.
Shanthini - good progress there.
Cindy - ooh that is an excellent word count! When it flows, it really flows.
April - there's another storm coming soon (tomorrow?) so don't get blown away.
Blake - oh dear, take care in that snow. Not my favourite weather.

Todays progress: 943 words on Demon Hunter. The first chapter is pretty much done and there's little left to do in this draft. Also I started drawing a map of one of the cities in the story "Bohale".

Logic Bomb: complete overhaul of the plot in order to avoid and/or subvert as many cliches as possible.

Sun Queen - a little more poking and prodding. I need to do more.

research - size of medieval towns. (they're small)

non-writing

trouble with the car etc.

keep at it, swimming, etc :)

Day 9
Worked ahead to finish marking up my current draft. Hopefully I can really start making more prominent edits now! Also need to start framing the new chapter I have to write but I think I’m going to wait until I finish editing the Chapters that come before it.

The weather is not too bad now. Shoveling the snow sucked but I was able to get it done quickly

I’m trying really hard not to slow down. But with the Holidays fast approaching I don’t think I can keep it up. At least I finished the markups and can start applying the edits more.

Can't believe it's December 2019 already! I won Nano a week early last month! I couldn't continue because I had a big assignment due at the end of the month.

This month, I'm going to try and collect all the lore from my Nano project and put it into a document. I'm also hoping to continue writing the project! I'm also hoping to label every important section in the draft so far. I have a table of contents going and that'll make it easy to navigate! :)

Edit: Labelled all the sections. One goal is complete!

Pterofan: It’s pishin’ doon here too. Tea and bed sounds like an excellent idea!

Layla: Oo, DIY spa time! What’s your favourite DIY spa treatment?

Keithy: Yup, I can confirm that storm 2 is here! Excellent work getting 943. Are you gonna let DH sit for a while once this draft is done?

blake: Good job!

shanthini: Nice!

Daniel: The ball is rolling :)

Good luck with the move, Taylor. Sending stress-free vibes!

Sounds like a plan, vicky :)

I (hopefully) fixed the problems I picked up in yesterday’s read-through. Now gonna let it sit a couple of days before reading again. I think I’ll start book 2 … and I’m going back to pantsing because, my god, plotting kills me.

Day 10: Decent bit; 1 mile; belt it, Dolores!

Day 9 - 347 words (flash)

Can't seem to get my engine started. I hope I didn't burn myself out in November. I'll just keep writing flash until the urge kicks in again. Or all us drive-bys can get together and have our own Indy 500. Keithy can cheer us on. :D
