So I was doing a little research with a search engine that allows you to find how many people in America bear the same name and I unearthed some rather mystifying and freakish results:
While:
499 people are named John Locke
72 people are named Jack Shepard
1,404 people are named Michael Dawson (and 8,281 are named Kevin Johnson)
5 people are named Shannon Carlyle
25 people are named Charlie Pace
6 people are named Claire Littleton
25 people are named Kate Austin
3,000 people are named James Ford
23 people are named Hugo Reyes
17 people are named Nikki Fernandez (odd that this search engine's heard of her when no-one on the insland has---Who the hell are you?)
139 people are named Charles Whitmore
1 person is named Desmond Hume
AND
1 person is named Penelope Whitmore
However...
There are 0 Ethan Roms.
There are 0 Goodwin Stanhopes.
There are 0 Mikhails.
There are 0 Beatrice Klughs.
And even though there is not a SINGLE person in America named Benjamin Linus, there is one man named Dean Moriarty, which is the name on Ben's passport for when he's traveling abroad.
That is truly chilling...
