Now I'm off to look for the links to the threads about how on earth that came to be.

There's umm ... a whole buncha threads, actually.

It started as an April Fools joke; MacCannister created a fake Mod room. And umm... mods posted fake threads, like this one about newbies. Or this one about mods and erotica. Or this one, about mass pruning threads.

What's worse is I fell for it and emailed ChunkyC telling him I thought there was a problem becuase I could see the mod room.

He assured me it was an April Fools joke and then I felt silly.
