Did you see, no one even moved or sang along.
Sigh - Do I have to explain about us Londoners AGAIN?

We resent anything that seems to be trying to get a reaction out of us, ESPECIALLY if it's on the tube.

Irritating buskers, Rag-Week students dressed in lame costumes and rattling charity buckets at us, Romany ladies begging with babies, drunken men ranting, drunken women ranting, chanting football supporters, 'amusing' non-Londoners down for the day, making the same 'amusing' comments about how nobody cracks a smile on the tube, despite how 'amusing' they are, teenagers screaming their private lives to each other like life is an animated FaceBook...We just don't like it and we believe that if we take any notice, we'll only encourage it.

The tube isn't for fun, it's for getting where you're going as quickly and miserably as possible, the misery legally only relieved by reading-matter (and if it's something dour like the Financial Times, you get extra points) and that's the way we'd like to keep it. End of.
