There is a closed thread on this agency, but there seems to be a discussion about another agency in the replies.

Michelle Grajkowski
Cori Deyoe

On P&E - Dollar sign only next to Grajkowski

Anyone had any experience with them?

I have known a number of people who've worked with Michelle. Like any other agent, some people are a better fit with her than others.

But she's completely legit. :)

I sent her a snail mail query package in July and didn't receive a rejection until late December.

I once sent a query letter, the first three chapters, a full synopsis and a SASE (as stated on her website) and it took take about 8+ months to get form rejection. Though their website does state "Please be patient as we are reading as fast as we can."

I agree with Susan-- totally legit.

Turnaround times - ugh

Thanks for the info. I had been holding off querying them because they are in Wisconsin. I know the NY rule doesn't always apply and they seemed to have a good sales record. I just wanted to check in. Too bad about the turnaround times. But they are a good match for me, so I'll give it a go.

Ms Grajkowski's AQ profile page doesn't reflect this change yet, so I thought I'd share:

*** NEW Submission Guidelines ***

As of March 12, 2008 we are now accepting email queries only.
Please email your submission to: queries AT threeseaslit DOT com
Please note: all snail mail queries received before May 1, 2008 will be responded to, providing a SASE has been included with the submission. It is not necessary to email a new query.

Fiction:
Please email the first chapter and synopsis.

Also, be sure to include the genre and the number of words in your manuscript, as well as pertinent writing experience in your cover letter.

Non-Fiction:
Please email your full non-fiction proposal including a query letter and your first chapter. If you are uncertain how to prepare a non-fiction proposal, there are many books available on this subject.

Children's Books:
YA and Middle Grade: Please follow the fiction guidelines above.
Picture Books: Please email the complete picture book text.

Any ideas on response times for e-queries? I sent a query letter and 1st chapter via email on 6-10-08 and still haven't heard anything. I'm assuming it's a no response reject.

Congrats!

Thanks! You folks are all so nice and so supportive!

It dawned on me I didn't name my agent. Oopsie. If you want to talk about her, we'll have to switch to the Curtis Brown thread. Maureen Walters in my agent now, and I couldn't be more pleased. :D

I queried Michelle on 8/31, so I guess I have a ways to wait!

Congrats, Shameless! Way to go!

Thanks, Erin! :D

Good luck with Michelle! I loved her presentation with Anna DeStefano (sp?) at nationals. She also represents a friend of mine, and she has great rapport with her clients.

Congratulations! I missed your original post, so I'm off a few days, but I bet you are still a few feet off the ground!

Shameless, heartfelt congratulations.

For those who are waiting for a response from Michelle G specifically, she was out of town at ACFW's national conference most of last week. She gave a good recap of what they're looking for, I'm told--I was on volunteer duty at the time.
