I'm an octogenarian who plays bass (string, guitar and tuba). Started in high school with school band and small combo playing for proms, parties, events. Did nothing until nearing reirement when I began to practice string bass again. Took up tuba again when I observed they are favored by bands playing "traditional" (i.e. dixieland) jazz. Have a regular gig playing dixieland on tuba in Forida during winter season but can't find a similar gig in Connecticut during other seasons. Quess I'm a musical dinasauer because most popular music created after the 1960s doesn't interest me.
