If you guys do it December 10 - 12, I could maybe make a guest appearance. I'll be back home for an all purpose holiday visit, but I've done seen them fools thousands of times. Time for some new fools to put in mental photo album.
The largest regional writing organization in the U.S. is in the Washington, DC area: Washington Independent Writers. They do have critique groups for members.
Excellent! Is anyone able to make the Dec meeting with Perks (aside from me) or should we shoot for January? PM me your area and we'll mapquest someplace that is centrally located.
Linda, thank you for that link, I'll definitely check it out.
I'm in NOVA and had no idea there was such an interest (I'm a little guarded when it comes to my writing) in this area. I'm pleasantly surprised by the presence here at AW. I might even allow myself to be talked into showing up for something like this. I'm going to have to keep tabs on this. My schedule is flaky at best with work, (I work in Herndon and sometimes in the D.C.) but I'd like to hear the plan and see my options.
Herndon rocks! I used to work at the SACC program at Floris Elementary. I'm working in Reston now. But my dibs are in with Chaos-- duh, right? I'm game for anything!
I work until 6:15 in Reston, (Literally just up the street from the Barnes & Noble by the Reston Town Center, if anyone wants to meet there one day) by the time I get there y'all would be done with dinner. That and in the five years I've been here, I've never driven in D.C.
May I suggest you select a meeting place by a Metro stop - it's the easiest way to travel in DC, IMO. Find parking outside the city then Metro in. Piece of cake.
(Hint: Union Station itself is easy to get to and has plenty of good food places.)
Will try to catch up with all y'all at a later date; I'm unable to travel at the moment.
