Faye Bender Literary Agency

I have no idea whether to query Faye Bender or not! It says she doesn't accept genre fiction, but she reps Kristin Cashore... so confusing.

Query her, Beckstah. What is the worse she can do? She takes YA, and I think by genre fiction she means adult SF/F and Horror. She's not going to shoot you.

Remember that Janet Reid advises writers to query widely. Sometimes, we just have to take that chance. Who knows? Some agents are not really specific in what they like. Genre fiction to me means adult genre fiction, unless of course the agent in question only reps children's and YA.

Hm. I queried in April and received no response, and no bounce-back. She doesn't specify 'no response means no' so I think I may requery.

I queried her in Feb and then requeried her about 8-10 weeks later. Never heard anything back. Chalked it up to a no.

Based on comments here and QT, lately her emails have been bouncing back and she hasn't responded, but there's nothing on her website.

The old email I had was [email protected], but I see on her website that queries are now going to [email protected]. So I'm trying that one to see what happens.

Queried back on 8/6, nothing yet. Giving it until 9/6 before closing it out as a no-response.

The author I ghostwrite for sent a query 4/10/11. He sent a follow up 8/15/11 and today on 8/23 he got a form rejection.
