Hmm, I haven't seen the A&E version yet. The Birds was really good. I didn't think I was going to like it or think it was scary at all. It really wasn't scary or anything, but I know I had a bad dream about it the next day. To me, it's one of those movies that makes you wonder in the back of your mind.

Yes, Gaslight is awesome.

House on Haunted Hill (I like both versions - the remake is SO campy!) and House of Wax (but ONLY with Vincent Price, unless you just want to see someone kill off Paris Hilton)

Halloween I and II, but ONLY those two. The rest suck.

I've never seen Citizen Kane or One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. I'm sure there's some other really good ones I'm missing, but those two I've been meaning to see for a while.

Some of my favorites are:
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Casablanca
A Clockwork Orange
Arsenic and Old Lace
Full Metal Jacket
The Deer Hunter
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

Arsenic and Old Lace is one of my favorites Ev-er. It makes me want to charge San Juan Hill.
:)
P.S. Imitation of Life was my grandmother's favorite movie, and I love it too.

LOL about San Juan Hill. Every time I see Imitation of Life I cry. It is so sad and I love it.

I forgot about My Fair Lady, but I might only like it because I have a secret crush on Audrey Hepburn. The movies not all that good, really.

Once you've heard the truth, everything else is ju
The Third Man (Orson Wells owns the role of Harry Lime)
Forbidden Planet (wonder where Gene Roddenberry got the idea for Trek? This is it)
The Gospel According to Saint Matthew (who knew an Italian communist (Pasolini) could pull something like this off?)
The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari
and
Metropolis (both silent greats)
Village of the Damned (the original; dang those kids were creepy)
The Rainmaker (Burt Lancaster was born to play Starbuck)
Paths of Glory (more timely than ever; Kubrick's masterpiece)
and Lord, so many more...

Rosemary's Baby.
Good, clean, horror fun.

And I hated A Clockwork Orange. Made me want to throw up. I couldn't read the book either.

In fact the only Stanley Kubrick film I ever liked was The Shining. And I think that was mostly because of Stephen King.
