Since Nancy hasn't been here in a year, I went ahead and updated the list. If you see any additions or changes, post them here or you can PM me and I'll try to keep this up to date.

Thanks, SM

Oh Great, I didn't even know these blogs existed. I just spent the last two hours reading blogs......ugh! Like I don't have enough distractions.
Seriously....... thanks.

Oh, swell. MORE blogs for me to spend my time reading so I can learn how to create the absolutely, positively, 100 percent, can't-miss, guaranteed to hook 'em like a fish, perfect query letter instead of actually writing the flippin' thing.

Must...stop...reading..and...bookmarking...Argh...getting weak...:e2faint:

These are links to agent blogs. Some agent’s blog, some don’t. Research the agents (these blogs can help your research), find the ones that represent the genre you write and then submit per their guidelines. Never submit a manuscript cold. You’ll need to write a query letter and then some agents may request additional information such as a synopsis, the first five pages of your manuscript or even the first three chapters. You will need to follow each agent’s submission guidelines.

I queried one agent based on her blog. The way she wrote about being an agent & how she loved to read made me decide to query her. Plus she gives a lot of helpful tips. I think Ive been blessed, havent really come across any ones like you mentioned. Except Miss Snark and I admit Im far too scared to query her.

In an effort to improve this, here's the status of the agent blogs in the first post. If someone with editing ability would delete the ones that are no longer active -- using judgment for those updated in 2011 but with months of inactivity -- I'd surely appreciate it.

I'll also try to see what I can do about the ones recommended by others.

Nathan, I'm not convinced that the blogs which are no longer active are no longer useful; they contain a huge amount of information which many writers might benefit from. So I'm going to leave this list as it is, just in case; but your information is still valuable as it gives those of us who might prefer to only read blogs by agents who are still active a good idea of what's what. Thank you.

Old Hack -- Is it possible to order the list differently, with the active blogs at the top and a second section for "Valuable Archived Blogs". While they may be valuable themselves, their inclusion with active blogs makes the presentation of links not valuable.

Also, three of them have 404 errors and others have moved to new domains. In all, the sticky would be much more useful to the group if it were ordered and weeded up front instead of requiring people to go through them all one by one, post by post.
