Check out the cover of the current issue of Bird Times! "Caique Cuisine: Fuel for Hearty Appetites" is mine!

Um, I have no idea how long the cover's been online. I only thought to check tonight. For all I know, it may be gone tomorrow. Heh.

I have no idea what Caique Cuisine is . . . but congratulations anyway. And I'd probably eat it whatever it is. I have a hearty appetite myself.

Congratulations! Pretty bird on the cover, too.

Uh ... what's a caique? Or are you going to make me read the article? ;)

Thanks, everybody! :)

This is a Caique-they're really pretty little parrots. Because of their high activity level, you need to feed them just a bit differently than other birds. Hence, the article. (And just because I wanted to write about them. :D )

I mean, yes! You all have to read the article and write a report! Said report must be on my desk by Friday morning or ac has to eat a bowlful of parrot pellets. Hahaha! Err...what was I saying? Oh, yeah: :LilLove: Thanks again, y'all.

Can I just eat the parrot instead? They're yummy.

Wouldn't that be having your Caique and eating it, too?

Beautiful bird. How do you pronounce "caique?"
It's pronunced just like chicken. Oh, wait, sorry. Nevermind.

I've heard it pronounced several different ways. I say 'ky-eek' but am sure that's not right. :D

I've heard ky-ick, cake, kay-ick, and kay-eek.

Then, of course, some say 'chicken,' but we're pretending not to notice. ;)

I figured it was "cake". Now all I can think of are caiques kicking back on kayaks careening down a creek.

LOL. That's cute. :D

Re: pronounciation--I've even heard it said different ways from caique breeders! Now, that's one group of folks you'd think would know how to say it. ;)
