Oh, my good and helpful friends, how do I even begin to research this?
My character is a young woman in Oakland, California. She's farsighted, in case that matters, and she can afford this new pair.
What procedures will she undergo? Was there a common test for glaucoma back then? Will her pupils be dilated? What will her choices be regarding frames? I presume her lenses will be ground, so how long will that take? What more should I know, and how can I find out?
