Is the following a Simile, Metaphor or yet to be discovered treasure of which I am unaware?: "he looked at me with a tax accountant’s contempt,

Also, if you haven't had the Pleasure... A Home at the End of the World is a masterclass in prose and a wonderful novel that will stick with you. I believe it won a Pulitzer, but I am unsure. I was humbled by his words

That's a metaphor.

Similes contain like or as.
...he looked at me with contempt, like a tax accountant
...he looked at me as a tax accountant would, with contempt
