I'm running MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina), and when Scrivener prompted me to update, I hit OK.

The update would not run. Repeatedly crashed on startup.

I was able to restore my old version from a backup. There are also downloads of older versions available here.

I've run into one other person on Twitter who hit the same thing. Crash report has been sent to L&L, and I suspect they'll fix it quickly. But here in the middle of NaNo...yeah, maybe have a little more foresight than I did and wait until December to install a patch.

I upgraded to Big Sur for Mac and now things like bulleted lists are no longer working for me in Scrivener. There seems to be a whole host of problems that have been created in the wake of that. The Scrivener team appears to be on it, but I am tempted to wait out the first run of updates, until the dust settles.

I updated because I use bullets a hell of a lot and that function was not working on Big Sur.

Great! Now my project will not open at all.

It would appear that Scrivener has adopted the Jeepers' credo:

"If it ain't broke -- fix it 'til it is."
