I'm very sad to report that Debra Doyle, SF/F author, died on October 31st of a cardiac arrest. Debra was an amazing writer and editor. She was also one of the founding instructors of the Viable Paradise workshop. Together with her husband, Jim MacDonald (aka, Uncle Jim), they wrote dozens of books together, including the Mageworlds series, Knight's Wyrd, and The Circle of Magic series.

Oh, what terrible, devastating news! She was such a wonderful person and a brilliant, talented writer and editor. Our world is so much poorer for her loss.

My deepest condolences to Himself and their family.

I am sending all of my best thoughts and wishes to J, D's children, her brother, etc. Most of all to J. He is all deserving of our love.

Selfishly, for myself halfway around the world, I am sitting here in NZ bawling my effing eyes out. D was indescribably awesome. I already miss her something awful.
