Hi, I am an artist and designer as well as writer, and retired design teacher specializing in typography and design history.
I have been writing since college, 50+ years. I write mostly magical realism and I dont think thats a good name for the field. I dont care for the word genre much either especially when it is meant as not Literature, which is another genre. Category is a much better word.
When a magazine editor says a writer should read the publication to understand what the magazine is looking for I take that to mean the editor cant put it into words or has no real idea.
Besides painting and sculpture I also design computer fonts or typefaces.
I am a big fan of auto racing: open wheel, sports cars and dragsters but not NASCAR.
