Hello,

What is the difference between an author bio and a biographical sketch? I want to submit a short story to a magazine and it’s asking for a biographical sketch. All I can find online is that a bio sketch is the account of someone’s life.

Can someone please help? I’m confused.

Googled it and came up with this:

Biographical Sketches (Biosketches) are used to describe an individual's qualifications and experiences for a specific role in the project. Most federal agencies require a biosketch and some state and private funding agencies.

An author bio is a paragraph or so about you, your credentials, your hobbies, and other information you wish to share with readers. It's how readers get to know you beyond the pages of your book.
