Hey everyone,

My name’s Tyler, and I’m new here. Wow, it feels like my first day at a new school! I’m a writer from Toronto, Canada. I’m currently in the process of trying to take my writing beyond the hobby level. I’m always trying to get better and am looking to learn more about editors, agents, and publishing. I’m also a somewhat decent musician, and I had a short career doing the pub band thing. I look forward to chatting with all of you, maybe getting some critiques, and offering what insight I can. Thanks for having me!

Thank you! I quite enjoy classic rock in terms of listening, Tom Petty is my absolute favourite. The stuff I write is kind of blues/ folk/ country. Dabbling is good! I find it forces the brain to think differently

Welcome, Tyler! What is your genre?

My husband's a musician (guitarist/vocalist). When we lived in England while he was attending college, we used to go around pubs singing calypso songs next to a roaring fire! I also lived in Toronto once for a few months on my travels "around the world" and loved it.

You are doing the right thing, always trying to get better. I am no spring chicken and still continually study my craft!

One day I would love to play the pubs in England. That sounds awesome, some of the best nights are spent singing around the fire. I enjoy classic rock, and some of the better modern country. I think that’s an excellent quality, to be humble enough to recognize that improvements can always be made.

Also, what country musicians are you a fan of? I sometimes like to chill to Thomas Rhett.

I tend to write in the mystery/action/adventure genre, for my novels anyway. Short stories, I dabble with literary fiction.
Thomas Rhett has some good tunes, I quite enjoy John Pardi, Eric Church, Luke Combs.
