This is upsetting me.

In Scrivener 3, they finally fixed the quote after em-dash issue, so you get a closing quote, not an opening quote. And it worked that way.

Yesterday, I upgraded my Mac to Catalina, finally. And now the quote after an em-dash is backward. Still works fine in Word (which also corrected the issue a while back).

Does anyone have a fix? or do I need to go back to typing two quotes after an em-dash and deleting one to get the correct quote?

I confess I type them by hand; I don't want software changing my text unless I approve it before the change.

em-dash on a Mac — Option-Shift-hyphen

Open double printer's quote mark “ Option-Left Curly Bracket
Close double printer's quote mark ” Shift-Option-Left Curly Bracket

Right curly bracket substituted as above produces single printer's quote marks

I notice that there's a lot of discussion of this issue, and it seems to be tied to Catalina's text engine.
