Probably just dated myself with that title.
Hi everyone. Brand new to the forums, I found them via Brandon Sanderson's excellent BYU lecture series on YouTube.
I've been writing since middle school, but never made a serious go at it. My narrative energies mostly went into tabletop role playing games, and I ended up writing a few of those for private use. (They are terrible, but they worked!)
I'm willing to read almost anything, but my first love is Sci-Fi / Fantasy. That's what I generally write as well. I'm querying agents for my first book which turned out to be a YA fantasy, and 7,500 words into my second novel.
Favorite authors are Tamora Pierce, Patricia McKillip, Guy Garival Kay, and Larry Niven. I've been getting into YA a bit as I look for comps for my books but don't have solid favorites in that genre yet.
I'm excited to be part of this community! I'll be happy to beta-read for folks, and will post over in that forum soon. I'm looking to start a writing group in my local area (Pacific Northwest) but maybe it'll work better to start one online.
If you got all the way to the end, then thanks for reading! Good to meet you all.
