I've heard this is the place to be for great writing tips, resources, and a generally great writing community. I've written romance for over 20 years, starting in my early teens. I've come quite a long way since then, and with a finished MS that has gone through a few beta reads and I'm polishing up, with another almost complete, I figured it was time to dig deeper and get a start on the query and submission portion if this crazy ride.

I'm just starting to get my feet wet on FB and Twitter, and tweaking a website so I can start building some kind of base for the magical day I get published.

I'm so excited to learn, meet like minded people, and improve my writing through this group!

Hi Avalonia! Welcome!

I'm new too. You sound like you're at an exciting point. I'm sure there's loads of advice to be had on here for the query letter stage - I don't have a completed manuscript myself yet but I've seen some pretty useful tips also on YouTube from Literary Agents and published authors that can be very inspiring for getting a draft going.

Hello and welcome!

That all sounds fantastic! I hope that it will be downhill from here for you. From what I understand, this is a very supporting community and I am sure you will find some great tips here. I am a fellow Newbie, myself, working on the first draft of my fantasy novel.
Nice to meet you.

In my opinion, you've heard right, Avalonia. I think AW's combined writing expertise is super helpful. Social aspects are great, too, and mostly you can choose to read views on religion, politics, personal drama, et cetera in forums for those.
