I spilled a glass of ginger ale on my skein of acrylic yarn. Didn't even have a chance to roll it into a yarn ball. Does anyone know a good way to clean it? I'm thinking soaking in cool soapy water.

Ralph's side of the island.
Assuming it's okay to get it wet, I would try serial warm water baths. In other words dip, change the water, dip and so on until it's clean.

You are rinsing sugar or whatever off and it should all be water soluble. You only need the soap if you need to break down oils or grease. And you would need soap or detergent for red wine or red/grape juice, I believe, to dislodge the color that would have soaked in.

Great, thank you. I'll do that.
