Searchable database of UK limited companies: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/ in case anyone wants to check if their fictional company has a real life namesake. I don't know if the USA or other countries have equivalents. There is a Merrick Music in the UK but I don't know if it's the same one that the OP found as it only has UK companies.

Some company names are so common that it's unlikely to be a problem with copyright.

Write it the way it feels comfortable in your head--all the way through--then find an acceptable substitute at the last minute before submitting, and change it. The editor will never know any difference, and you won't be bothered by something that feels "off" during the writing process.

Possibilities:
Meredith Music
Merton Music
Morgan Music
Merrill Music
(keep going through the telephone book) :)
