During the great AW blackout, I needed to print a few copies of my WIP. I don't plan to self-publish, but I wanted some perfect bound print-outs for beta readers who didn't like to read on computers. I wanted to research vendors here, but AW was down. So I found a place that printed a 240 pg 6x9 book with a full-color cover for less than $8 a copy. No set up costs. All I provided was cover art and a PDF. The copies look great, and I avoided sites that also provided marketing services that I didn't need. With two-day shipping, I got five copies for $53.
Did I overpay? I may do this again after the manuscript goes through a few more revisions. What's the going rate for a quick and dirty print job like this?
