What a fun movie this is, and damn, I want to know why it's running so criminally under the radar. The cast is terrific, especially Eddie Murphy in a loving and hilarious homage to Rudy Ray Moore, the self-promoted comedian, proto-rapper, and star of his own Blaxploitation franchise, Dolomite. Wesley Snipes does a wonderful, campy star turn, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph just sparkles as Rudy's sidekick, Lady Reed. If you're looking for a truly feel-good movie, this is the one.

Yes! I watched this on a whim, expecting to give up after 10 minutes because most recent Eddie Murphy efforts didn’t work for me. But damn, this a fine film.

Long-time Eddie Murphy fan here. I enjoyed hell out of this movie. He was made for the part.

He's hosting Saturday Night Live tonight and I'll be sitting there, drumming my fingers, glued to the TV. He's a comedy genius and I can''t wait to see what he does on that stage.
