Hello everyone!
I am excited to be a part of this community. When I was a teen, I was really into writing stories and I wrote a couple of first drafts of different books but never learned how to revise. During college, I didn't write at all, but now I am inspired again and I want to develop my craft. Hopefully by beta reading and more writing I will be able to start getting the ball rolling to increase my skill.
Right now, I'm working on an urban fantasy adventure novel, but as it's still a first draft I'm not sure how I feel about it. My favorite genres to read are fantasy, soft sci fi, and standalone romances when I want something short and sweet.
Outside of writing, I love outdoor activities like hiking, backpacking, and skiing.

Question: Any recommendations for a good book on grammar? As I have been going through my first draft, I have been noticing some holes in my knowledge.

:welcome:

You landed in a wonderful community.

As per your question, try logging into your local public library's ebook site. You may have to contact a librarian to set up an account if you do not have access already. Type in "English Grammar" in the search engine, and you should get loads of hits (even a quick reference guide, maybe).

Hi

Hello everyone!

I guess I kind of like writing a lot of slice-of-life stories. I'm not sure what you would call the stories that tend to be very down-to-earth and err more to the side of realism than that of sci-fi or fantasy.

Right now, I'm working on a novella. It'll be my first novella. I find that it is very hard for me to focus on one draft to the next. The story I am working on is also a first draft, and I don't think it is all that good.

Outside of writing, I guess I really like to play video games. I think it's best to keep your hopes really low.
