There's a section in the Reading and Posting Messages thread of BOARD FAQ forum, giving instructions on how to post attachments, but under my listed Posting Permissions, it says "You may not post attachments".
Who can post attachments? Is there a way I will be able to at some point?

No one can post attachments. The vBulletin FAQ is about a generic install of vBulletin. We have never supported attachments becauase:

  • Vector for malware
  • Bandwidth and server space hog
  • Problems for users with dialup modems (we have a lot of members on dialup)
  • Issues with people posting inappropriate images

The FAQs in this sub-forum are the ones that refer to AW specifically.

See for instance

Thanks for you reply.

If no one can post attachments, perhaps someone should remove the redundant instructions on how to here...
https://absolutewrite.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_attachments

1. They're built into the software. I can edit but I can't really remove them.
2. If I edit, every time we run certain utility scripts, they are rebuilt.
3. This board is run entirely by volunteers. I have a day job.
4. Every new member is directed to read the board FAQs in this area.
