Hi, I am new to Absolute Writer and I just wanted to say Greetings and Salutations. I strive to be Humble, Radiant and Terrific, though some may consider me "Some Pig. " ^_-.
I am a published author (self-published with like zero sales cause I know nothing about actual promotion. ) And am currently working on two new novels. I love writing, one for its own sake (it is fun), and two, I really think it can change the world. The process is of course Dialogical/Dialectic, with the artist changing his environment, and the environment changing the artist. George Orwell was a product of his times, at the same time, he helped make history. I hope to use my art for the Greater Good, and one quote I am very fond of, which you will see in my profile is that "Imagination Rules the World" said by a man who temporarily ruled most of Europe and arguably played a central role in ending Feudalism - Napoleon Bonaparte (one of my heroes. ).
I love reading as well. I love fantasy (Clive Barker's Art Trilogy, and Acacia being some of my favorite fantasies. ) Science fiction (The Foundation Series, Dune, Brinn's Uplift series, Gibson, Bear and Stephenson. ) And I love the classics, especially since they take place during the times of the French Revolution/Napoleonic Era or roughly around that time (Tale of Two Cities, Les Miserables, Count of Monte Cristo, War and Peace and the Scarlet Pimpernel. ) I like reading lots of non-fiction too: Marxism, Evolutionary Psychology, Richard Dawkins, Stephen Pinker, Philosophy, some physics (more articles then anything, the latest which really got me excited was that on Quantum Monism, or how the multiverse can actually be seen as a universe from a certain perspective due to quantum entanglement, which theoretically, very, very theoretically, could allow dimensional travel) , military history (Von Clausewitz 'On War', 'The Utility of Force' ) , History ( 'Guns, Germs and Steel' ). I also like straight up comic book/campy fiction, X-Men, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battletech, Vampire the Masquerade, Warhammer (Fantasy and 40k). And Anime - Legend of Galactic Heroes and Crest of the Stars being in my opinion equal to any classical work despite being animated (a lot of people don't know this but the Japanese often times make serious sci-fi and fantasy works animated since they lack Hollywood Budgets. ) And yes, horror (The Dark Tower).
I am glad to be here, and it looks like there is so much to do and so little time. Anyways, thank you for reading this and have a nice day. = )
