CindyT: Nice, good job on the scene chart as well as the word count and the revisions!
April: I totally agree. What I'm doing, when I'm not writing, is brainstorming where my story is going to go. The next step, I suppose, is making a few rough ideas down on my tablet and then taking it from there. I like a sort of loose feel to it-- I feel it allows me to be more creative. Besides, editing can trim down the excess fat I suppose. Sure, if you're willing to give me some recommendations I'll check them out. I listen to so much music, but I can always fit in more since I typically read and write to music all day. Great job on your efforts today, you took it home!
Robert: I think that's some really good advice and I will heed it. I love Zimmer, but I haven't heard of the two others and I'll be checking them out. Thanks for the recommendations! Also, I'm glad that you're figuring out your books and what you want to do with them. I agree it's a challenge, but I think you're handling it in a logical, organized fashion and I hope it'll work for you.
Pterofan: Keep flashing! And that's exciting about the paid assignments. What sort of work is that, if you don't mind me asking?
Sandree: Good work on the editing, I'm glad it's flowing through. And oh damn about the mold. I do know it can be dangerous to your health, so do be careful. I'm confused about why, if it's remediated (my father works in that industry and once it's clean it shouldn't be a problem :S) that it's still suggested you move. Hmm...
WGough: Excellent revisions. Always on top of the game. You're a model for progress and giving it a good go everyday!
Layla: Thanks Layla! It sounds like you've had an exhausting day. I was tired all today too and didn't get in as much as I had hoped to. But there's always tomorrow! Couscous is a dish I like! I like how you're organizing your day. Props!
Ubriel: Hey, whatever works for you! I heard that Crichton had a schedule of waking up 1 hour earlier every day when he wrote. That's an intense example, but if yours if working than all the power to you. Keep at it! And, lol, they included the beef gravy with the dish for the potatoes and stuffing and I used the gravy intended for the chicken. Oh well!
I'm experimenting with silence, but I find that (since I write on my bed most of the time) it tends to make me a little sleepier. Still, with the coming days I hope to be more awake.
Me: 2,271 words-- not bad I think. I was so tired today. I'm not sure why. I think it's because I tried to skip my morning tea and I couldn't make it without falling asleep a few extra hours. Yet, if my body needs it, I'll give it some more sleep. Did NOT smoke and drink. I'm really liking how this is going. My lungs were a bit sore today, but they cleared out on my walks and they're feeling lighter and more replenished. Another good thing is a small lump on my neck turned out to just be a pimple-- I'm kind of a hypochondriac and thought it might be a thyroid problem. :X
All is well. I'm meeting a friend this Friday for a light hanging out session-- a movie and just a few beers, and I'm having a great week. Finished some Nabokov and Stephen King today and I'm halfway through that psychology textbook. I also started Darwin's The Voyage of the Beagle (I have already read The Origin of Species.) I want to push my reading into overdrive mode since I have the time. I feel that it really benefits my writing when I read more daily and it adds to just about every layer, so I intend on getting a lot more reading done in the coming weeks. Also, I'm debating, and anyone can chime in here, whether watching movies can be helpful for writng in the sense of absorbing plot, style, and content. Do you think I should try to incorporate that as well or stick to just reading tons? Additionally, I'm returning to my Meetup writing group that is held twice a month in my city. It'll be good to get some more eyes over pieces I write and influence me to produce small written works for it. Hey, whatever works, right?
Good hustle everyone! I'll be back here tomorrow. Early wake-up: 6:30. Ugh!
